“Camp Season” is a documentary series that I shot and edited for Evangel Football in the Spring of 2022. Focusing on the spring training camps and culminating in the Spring Game, this 3-part series follows Head Coach Chuck Hepola and coaches Jeremy DeSoto and David Flores as they plan, prepare, and train their athletes for the upcoming fall season.
This was easily the biggest project I did for Evangel Athletics. With over forty hours of raw footage to comb through, it took nearly a month and a half to edit all three 8-minute episodes. I had students help me with shooting, as we always had multiple cameras going at every event, and we never went anywhere without mic’ing up one of the coaches. The result is a candid, engaging, and uplifting piece of media, and looking back on all the work it cost, I’m glad to have been able to make such a cool thing with such cool people.
