The “One Shining Moment” tradition in NCAA basketball is a favorite of my former Assistant Athletic Director Phillip Dowden, and it’s become a tradition that I’ve implemented into Evangel Basketball. Beginning in 2020, I started editing “One Shining Moment” highlights reels to wrap up the season, and after doing three of them now, I’ve got to say there’s just something magical about the song and the moments of a great season of basketball. These are some of my favorite videos to edit for Evangel Athletics.
Featuring footage shot by me and highlights provided by Mediacom 22, these videos showcase the raw talent and power of Evangel Men’s and Women’s Basketball, two teams that have shown themselves time and time again to be among the most competitive in their conference and the NAIA. Now under the leadership of Head Coach Bert Capel, the men’s team has already played in the opening round of the national tournament in Capel’s first season, and Lord knows they’ll be back. To be able to capture these incredible moments from the most exciting show in the Ashcroft Center has been a privilege, and I look forward to what these two teams will do in the coming seasons.
